Abstract:

The ability to perform two measurements simultaneously is not granted by quantum mechanics. In this talks, I will introduce several notions, such as joint measurability and coexistence of measurement outcomes, and I will clarify the connections between them. In the second part of the talk I will characterize the coexistence of pair of POVM operators. As an application I will formulate different degrees of incompatibility for binary projective measurements and I will use this result to quantify the degree of non-classicality given by the CHSH Bell inequality.
