Forty-three senior students travelled from across China to attend IIIS Physics Summer School at Tsinghua Xuetang on May 10-11, 2014. The summer school was opened by Prof. Luming Duan, Tsinghua CC Yao Professor and Michigan Enrico Fermi Collegiate Professor, who delivered the first talk, entitled “Introduction to Frontier of Quantum Information”. In his talk, Prof. Duan made an overview on quantum information, explained the superiority of quantum computer and how to realize the quantum network, and concluded the talk with a brief introduction to Center for Quantum Information (CQI).

The students also heard from a number of other IIIS academics on a range of topics from quantum simulation, quantum theory and foundations, superconducting, quantum cryptograph, to quantum computation complexity, quantum entanglement, trapped ions.
