Abstract:
Correlations are fundamental, subtle and complex objects in quantum systems. The qualification and quantification of correlations are two basic and closely related issues in quantum theory, and play important roles in quantum information processing. In this talk, we will briefly review several classifications of correlations such as separability versus entanglement, classical versus quantum, and discuss various measures of correlations. We will elaborate on classical and quantum correlations from the perspectives of quantum measurements and information sharing, and highlight the relationships between entanglement and quantum correlations.
