The Second UTS Quantum Computer Science School Concludes in Sydney

On the afternoon of Jan. 22, 2018, the second UTS Quantum Computer Science School kicked off at University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), attracting over 40 students from YaoClass 50, IIIS, Tsinghua University, Seoul National University, University of New South Wales, Griffith University, etc. Prof. Mingsheng Ying, Research Director of Quantum Software and Information Center, UTS, attended the opening ceremony and made the welcome speech, with the attendance of Prof. Runyao Duan, Director of Quantum Software and Information Center, UTS, Assistant Prof. Ran Duan, and Assistant Prof. Chenye Wu, class supervisors of YaoClass.

It is the eleventh time for junior students of YaoClass to attend Winter School. This 4-day school included six invited talks covering quantum computing, quantum cryptography, quantum states and quantum programming, given by Prof, Chris Ferrie, Prof. Zhengfeng Ji, Prof. Marco Tomamichel , Prof. Mingsheng Ying from UTS, Prof. Ran Duan and Prof. Chenye Wu from IIIS. All the school members participated in discussion and presentation on hot topics of quantum computing.
