Abstract:
In this talk, I will introduce our experimental setups for MUSIQC (Modular Universal Scalable Ion traps Quantum Computing) project. This project provides a potential solution to realize quantum computer with ion traps. We tested five different type surface traps including Y- trap, ring trap and HOA (high-optical-access) traps in this system. We successfully trapped long ion chain (up to 13 ions) and mixed isotope ion chain on the high optical access surface trap. We demonstrated ion shuttling between different quantum regions. At last I will introduce a potential optical cavity trap which integrates with hybrid ion chain for quantum networking.
